A Tandem-like course created in collaboration with Dr. Rebecca Ogden from the University of Kent, UK.
Course Summary
This course is designed for intermediate and upper-intermediate learners of English who want to improve their language skills in the fields of business, international affairs, and negotiations. This first tandem-like course will feature four sessions per week; one of these sessions will be a tandem class where students from Latin America and the United Kingdom can practice their English and Spanish skills in business contexts.
Weekly Activities
This is a 4-week course and each week we have the following activities:
LIVE CLASSES
Monday
7:00pm CDT
We meet on Zoom to take the first class of the week. In this class, we explore the vocabulary and structures you will practice during the week. You'll also get a form with the materials and exercises for the class.
INDEPENDENT LESSONS
Tuesday
Self-paced
In this 15/20-minute lesson you will find a video, PDF materials and exercises to rehearse and increase your awareness of the topic that will be discussed in the tandem session that takes place the day after.
TANDEM SESSIONS
Wednesday
7:00am CDT or 3:00pm CDT
You can choose the session that best suits your schedule. These tandem sessions are designed for both: Business English and Español de Negocios. The group will practice half the class in each language.

Self-paced
This is a 15/20-minute lesson where you can go over a brief summary of the topics covered during the week, including the structures and vocabulary seen. You will also find tasks where you can put these into practice.

Cuando inicié en este curso se me dificultaba pronunciar las palabras o el hecho de hablar con alguien más me hacía sentir muy estresada, pero con la paciencia de Yazz, ha sido poco a poco mi progreso. Creo que he aprendido y a la vez a trabajar mis miedos y con su paciencia, puedo decir que este curso me ha ayudado a poder tratar de conversar con otras personas y el reto de hablar con personas hablantes del idioma ha sido un reto para mi, pero poco a poco he podido hacer y aprendido a la vez. Interactivos e Interesante
Me agrada mucho el poder hablar o interactuar con mas personas y tratar de poner en practica lo que he aprendido y a la vez, poder aprender de otros tanto del idioma, pronunciación y tema cultural, ya que al tener oportunidad de conocer a personas nativas del idioma nos enseñan otra manera de ver las cosas o simplemente aprender como se usan ciertas frases o en que momentos poder decirlo de cierta forma. Cada día, es algo nuevo y Yazzy siempre está trabajando para ayudarnos en nuestro aprendizaje y que sea interactivo.
